“Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
The story of Willow Tree Farm is a story about love, loss, pain, and the restoration and healing that come through the grace of God.
In 2001, after much prayer, we purchased a 35 acre piece of land in Summertown, Tennessee, and moved there with our son, Shawn, his wife Lucy, and their two children.
The farm was exactly what we had prayed for; Willow Tree Farm was established. As our plans for the farm began to come together, our progress was stopped abruptly when Lucy was diagnosed with breast cancer. We shifted our focus to her treatment and recovery, but, unfortunately, she lost her fight with cancer in 2005.
As we began rebuilding our lives, we began revisiting our dream of growing our farm. When it seemed like our lives and our plans were back on track, we suffered another devastating loss; in 2007, on our farm, not too far from the place where Lucy passed away, Shawn ended his life. Our place of peace and beauty became a place of pain and fear.
Now, nine years later, because of our faith, family, and friends, we are ready to share our story—and the story of Willow Tree Farm—with you. We wanted our peaceful, beautiful farm back, so we decided to do what Shawn and his Dad had started out to do. We built a barn where their home used to be, then slowly added the animals, gardens, fruit trees, and bushes. A place of loss was being restored to a place of life. God has richly blessed us, and He took our pain and gave us a renewed purpose. We have gleaned so much from God's creation, His natural order of things.
Our farm and our faith have brought us comfort and healing; we want to share those blessings with you. With every purchase of a Willow Tree Farm product, a portion of the profits will be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Suicide Awareness and Prevention.
